In my last post, I spoke about the many blog posts I had started, but couldn't finish. That is still the case.
But, this past weekend, I spent 4 days with 6 funny, beautiful and amazing women.

My book club, the Juggabees, which had met for over 20 years has fallen apart. It had lasted through babies, illnesses, divorce and Covid with zoom meetings, but it couldn't last as several of us moved away to retirement or new adventures.
I've mentioned them before.
We decided that just because we live in different states and miles away, it wouldn't stop us from getting together.
We weren't all there (there are 10 of us total), but to have 7 of us in one place is pretty darn good.
We had started little gatherings back when we were still a book club, traveling to a family's place on the Cape or the Adirondacks. Then when one member moved to the beach, that became our gathering place for a weekend in the summer.
When one moved to Florida, that became a great place to getaway in the winter. We have visited her the last couple of winters.
This weekend we visited beautiful North Carolina!

To say that the community, the people and the atmosphere was perfect for our friend doesn't even come close.
She (and her husband) is home.
They say home is where the heart is. And that is the things with these girls. And I think they would all agree...
They all have a place in my heart, and being with them is like being home.
We say that getting together is balm for our souls.
We laugh, cry, make "good choices", shop, disagree, and love hard. Getting together "heals" us from the ills of the world...at least for a little while.
I did not grow up with a sister. I had a brother. But, these ladies are my sisters. I may go so far as to say they are my soul sisters. Kindred spirits, even though we are all come from different backgrounds, experiences, and political persuasions.
We joke that one of us will buy 50 acres, and have little cottages on it, so we can all live together. It could happen...as long as there is a beach, water, warm weather, good bicycling, all the seasons, etc.

Now that I am back home, and life has settled back in, I knew I had to write about this weekend (well some of it...what happens at book club stays at book club).
I have my other friends...my Epic $#!& friends, that I run, bike, etc. with. They fill a different bucket. Still fun, still amazing, but different sisters.
These ladies have grown up with me. I met most of them before I had kids, and their kids were babies. A few I had met before I was 30!
We've been through some stuff.
We talk via WhatsApp almost every day. We lift each other up; we talk each other down. We send each other stupid memes and funny tik tok and instagram videos.
It is a weekend that we all look forward too.

We are already planning our next trip...this time down to Florida.
I suspect once we are all retired, we will travel around the world together! Not literally, but you never know.
We have renamed ourselves the Juggabouts.
They are just what the doctor would order to raise spirits and get a little crazy.
I'm already missing them, and can't wait to be together again.
Love ya ladies!!!!! Remember to Be Kind... and make good choices! See you soon!
